What is the Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival?

Our mission statement:  "The Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival, emphasizing family entertainment and community pride, is a celebration of Rochelle's rich past and present history of transportation, business and industrial development.  We invite one and all to come and celebrate with us during this festival."

Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.


Where and when does it take place?

The Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival occurs annually in Downtown Rochelle, Illinois, on the second-to-last weekend in August.  This year's festival will take place on August 22-24, 2008 and will be the 11th annual celebration of this event.


Who is involved?

Local organizations, institutions, businesses and members of the community are all involved in the planning, preparation, execution and funding of the Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival.  Please refer to the Members and Sponsors pages for more information.


What is the theme for this year's festival?

Technology, transportation and tourism are the focus of this year's event.


What streets will be blocked during this event?

Much of the Downtown Rochelle area will be sectioned off for the festival.  Parking is prohibited within festival boundaries.


Are outside foods and drinks allowed?

Vendors selling food and beverages will be available at several locations in Downtown Rochelle during festival hours.  Please do not bring any outside food or coolers.


When will the parade start?

The Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival Parade will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2008.  Local roads will be inaccessible to traffic during this time, so please plan accordingly.  The parade usually lasts between 45 minutes and an hour.


What will the parade's route be?

The parade will start near the intersection of Highway 38 and Caron Road (starting on Calvin Road) and head west on Highway 38 until it turns south onto Lincoln Highway.  It will then continue down Lincoln Highway, pass through Downtown Rochelle, and end shortly before reaching Lincoln Avenue.  Please refer to the parade map for more detailed route information.
